Cascina Bonifiglio peach jam

Opening a jar of Cascina Bonfiglio peach jam means taking a journey of the senses that takes you through the orchards of the Sicilian outback, surrounded by high cliffs and dotted with trees whose fruits are jealously protected by the characteristic parchment bag, which gives us a jam with a golden color, an intense aroma and a sweet and natural flavor that is a perfect filling for baked desserts or accompanied with dried fruit.

The Fruit

Our peach jam is made exclusively with peaches from the fine variety of Leonforte, a Slow Food presidium.

These peaches, grown exclusively in Leonforte, Enna, Calascibetta, Assoro and Agira, have a characteristic that makes them unique.

In June, when they are still green, they are covered with parchment bags to be picked in September without using pesticides.

Characteristics

After a slow, careful selection of farmers who for generations have been using and perfecting the technique of maturation in bags, the best peaches are transformed into a jam that uses 100% fruit per 100g of finished product.

Peaches have revitalizing properties, thanks to their content of vitamins A and C.

They also perform a very important regulating and purifying function of the intestine, as well as being highly digestible even for those intolerant to gluten, a protein of which peaches are completely free .
